Shelves / Pan

Hanel Lean-Lift® shelves are available in a number of widths and depths. and can be customized to provide increased storage density and efficiency through accessories such as perimeter walls, partitions, dividers, custom-molded trays, bin boxes, milling cutter holders, and reel holders.

Profile Wall, Internal Shelf Supports

Standard machine configuration positions high strength shelf supports every 2.95 inches up the side panels of the tower. The supports are welded in place at the factory, rather than bolted on during installation. The controller determines how many storage slots are required to store the shelf, based on information delivered by the height sensors.

Extractor and Drive System

For any VLM, the extractor and drive system are critical components as they perform the task of transporting the shelves vertically and horizontally within the tower. The Lean Lift extractor and drive system is powerful, stable, fast, and reliable.

Stable

The extractor’s roller suspension has a 4-points of contact to the tower frame and is driven vertically by 4-chains (one in each corner of the extractor). This design is extremely stable, allowing for imbalanced and heavy loads without the concern of tipping.

Powerful

Up to 1,000 kg. / 2,200 lbs. loads.

Fast

Vertical travel speed of up to 2.3m / 7.5 ft per second with 500 kg. / 1,100 lbs load with a “soft start” control through a frequency converter.

Reliable

Roller Chains provide durability and reliability, not requiring replacement at fixed intervals like other chain technology. Lean Lift chains are pre-stretched and maintenance free due to permanent wax lubrication.

Access Opening

Safety Light Curtain

A light curtain positioned at the front of the workstation access opening provides maximum safety for the operator during pick and put operations. It continuously monitors the full width of the opening and stops lift operations immediately if penetrated.

Height Detector

As the shelf is being pulled from the access opening and onto the left extractor, a precise light barrier detects the tallest item on the shelf and communicates that information to the controller. The controller uses this information to determine how many storage slots will be required to store the shelf inside the tower, identifies potential storage locations, and then dynamically assigns the shelf to location that provides optimal storage.
