Objectives
To increase throughput, productivity, and warehouse efficiency through the installation of an advanced automated storage and retrieval system (ASRS) at a major distribution facility in Edmonton, Alberta.
System Solutions
Cam Industrial partnered with a U.S. automation provider to deliver installation support for a comprehensive turnkey Opex Perfect Pick system. The solution included the installation of two specialized racking structures, each capable of storing up to 7,500 totes, for a total capacity of 15,000 totes.
Each structure is equipped with integrated robotic shuttles that automatically pick and put away totes, transporting them to operator workstations for replenishment or order fulfillment. The system’s automated integration between robotics and human operators significantly enhances accuracy, speed, and overall productivity within the distribution environment.
As part of the project, Cam Industrial provided hands-on installation expertise, ensuring that the system was implemented safely, precisely, and to specification — aligning with the client’s goal of achieving a high-performing, fully automated warehouse operation.
